It makes me mad reading some of the questions in cultures. I didn't know that there were so many undercover bigots on the internet and on Yahoo. I'm tired of these bigots on this site sayign that us Blacks are stupid, unattactrive, and ghetto. I'm the total opposite and most Black people are defying these sterotypes.

It does not make me mad and it should not make you mad either. We all know that we are not any of those things. There are some people that simply want the attention. Others are too cowardly to address their opinions openly instead they hide behind forums like these. Others are just ignorant. Use it as a stepping stone. Turn it into a positive. Each time you see negativity here or anywhere else that comes from bigotry and racism. Take a jar and put a penny in it each time that you see it, at the end of the year, cash them in and get something that accentuate who you are. Even better would be to cash it in and donate it to organizations that help motivate our children or scholarship funds. When you lash back at them, you stoop to their level. Make it a positive. Stay strong sista and keep doing the right things. Racists would like nothing better than to see their ignorance keeping your from making a positive mark on this society. All love

Because those white kids have nothing better to do. I wonder why they even respond to the questions that they know are geared to the Black people. For some reason they have to make a point of letting us know just how ignorant they are. I never thought when I started writing on Yahoo Answers that everyday I would have to see something written about me.. my people.. my culture... The Motherland.. my hair... my heritage and my education. Personally I think there should be a forum where we don't have to see that s***. The men are the worst. At least some of the women semi answer the question. This is why I am very short tempered and intolerant when it comes to them. They get off on demeaning others. Oh well... Let's just keep doing our thing and being the intelligent Black Americans we are. Did you notice half of them can't spell either?

Well the way I see it is i'm a good looking black guy with average grades. The whole ghetto thing is really stupid because I know I am but its where I was raised. It's the same how white people that grow up in the hood seem to be more distant to other white people. It's all about where and how your raised and not your race that matters. To that guy that was saying we arent defying the stereotypes happens to be an idiot. The way I see it is if you have a problem with our race blame the ancestors that brought us here because you have to deal with it. Instead of seeing us on cops all the time you see us on almost every sports highlight.........have you ever noticed who usually wins the olympics when its very hot and your usually running is invlolved.....were superior in certain aspects of life but yet other ways were not like in winter sports where we not used to the cold ( ilive in texas).To the bigots and rascist people kiss my *** and look for me because this world would be better if this world had respect......and all this coming from a kid in the ghetto.....guess were not as dumb as you think yahoo lol

Young woman, do not waste your time being angry about something you can not change. These posts are for your own good. They will remind you that everything is not equal and therefore you still have work to do. While things have changed a lot there is still so much more to do. The people that upset me are the people who are always reporting these people to yahoo and having the posts pulled.

Those people have NOTHING BETTER TO DO! Just look at their profiles,all of their questions are negative" why are black people this or why are mexicans that?" They search the site looking for questions that have to do with race issues and go post a racist answer. They are so consumed with ignorance and hate, that is all they can do. None of them would go to a real live black person and say those things they type so they hide behind their computer monitor and just let their fingers talk for them.

The problem is that this site is anonymous. Okay, people might get offended by what I say but I'm being honest.
Whites as well as other races including blacks themselves have issues with blacks. Many blacks have certain characteristics and behavior that many people don't like. Think about crime, violence, and drugs, many of the things promoted in rap music.
The problem is that many times stereotypes are actually applicale to a large majority of the people it is aimed at. If you read statistics you will see that many black males are in prision, commit certain crimes like theft, rape, and drug dealing especially. They are bigots for being so sarcastic and insensitive with their comments. But think about it, can you say that you never lash back at them by calling them hicks, white trash and other just as racist names? Have you ever seen the movie Crash? Very education film.
Many people have negative beliefs and anger towards black people in reality, but hide it because it is politically incorrect. However, on this site, they can say whatever they want, vent, speak their minds, and not show their face or who they are.

I am new here but are you being too sensitive?
Generalizations really suck, so if what you read does not pertain to the person you are - even being a black woman, do not feed into it and let it make you feel badly about yourself or angry.
Just accept it as another's opinion and keep it moving.
Som people say things purely for the shock value of saying it. But with the annononimity of these kinds of sites people are comfortable actually saying what they really mean. Do with it what you will but do not allow it to bring you down.

The only people I'm prejudice against are people who are prejudice! I have friends at school that are black, and we get along just fine. I wish everywhere was more like that.
Actually I kinda wish me and my family could have darker skin because skin cancer is really common. My mom just got it.

No most of you are not defying these stereotypes, if you were they would change. For every one smart and decent black person on here I can find 50 that are walking stereotypes. The reason people bash blacks and black women is that they seem to pride themselves on being poorly spoken, ghetto, pregnant, stupid and lazy, if you say otherwise all the other black women on here call you a "hater", I would rather be a hater than a stereotype any day!
