Okay, here is the problem:

After flying a an altitude of 500m, a helicopter sarts to decend when its ground distance from the landing pad is 11km. What is the angle of depression for this part of the flight?

I know you have to convert m to km, right?

I don't know...please help!

The altitude and distance form a triangle, so the tangent of the angle is the ratio between the height and distance.

height = 500 m
distance = 11000 m
tan (angle) = height / distance
tan (angle) = 500 / 11000 = 1/22
angle = 2.603 degrees
