Because they are bandwagon jumpers. They will never classify as a true fan and when it comes time to prove it, they will fail miserably. You have every right to be angry because where were these people when you stuck by your team who was in the gutter? Where were these people when you attended the game where attendence was so low you could hear the crickets chirping. Just know that you yourself are a TRUE FAN and that you will experience the true passions of what your team feels when they reach their ultimate goal. On the other hand, a bandwagon jumper will never be able to grasp nor understand that same feeling because they weren't there through the bad times.

Its not just in SoCal unfortunately. Most "sports" fans are just "team" fans. They cheer for their "team" and are not truly interested in the SPORT and actually don't know much about it. Watching sports for most people is merely a past time. Not a lot of people want "misery" in their leisure time, so, if their team is losing they go watch or do something else that makes them happy. If their team is winning, then they cheer and watch. Its human nature. But some of us live and die by our teams or a sport.

I see you are a Ducks fan. Well, I have watched Teemu Selanne his whole career. Even in his darkest performance with the Avs, I never gave up on him. This year, I'm going to have to take blood pressure medication, drink myself silly, and take Valium during the playoffs every time the Ducks play. Because, if anybody deserves a ring, its Teemu. And, god, the Ducks are just totally schizoid this year! Anyway, just hang in there and don't let the wagon hoppers get to you. HYVAA ANKKAT!!!

Makes me mad too. Especially when these fans get all opinionated. It's like they are not even a fan of the team or hockey in general, they just are when the team is winning. Good fans support their team through thick and thin. Even if your team sucks, you can still find something positive to keep you going even if it is the anticipation of a lottery pick.

I completely understand your feelings Dallas is the same way. 10 years ago you couldn't get Stars tickets if you sold your soul and you couldn't give Mavericks tickets away if they had a 5 dollar bill wrapped around them. Now everyone in Dallas is an NBA expert and outside of when the Wings and Avs come to town the arena is hardly ever a full sellout for the Stars. It is the nature of people they want to be a part of a winner so they all jump on the wagon.

That's always a tough thing in a city that doesn't have a long history or tradition in the sport. The Ducks are even tougher because no one in SoCal gives a spit about anything other than the Lakers.

Just enjoy the sport for the pleasure it gives you and try to ignore the johnny-come-latelies. They'll be gone again soon enough.

being a ranger fan, ive had to sit through some tough times

it was great to goto sold out crowds at the garden when the team looked like fools on the ice for a bunch of years.
i dnt like bandwagon fans. like some islander fans. the islanders never sold many tickets, but last season they were awful and could barely get anyone, and now that they are contending for the plaoffs, the "fans" act like they were there the whole time

I watch pretty much any game I can, but my roommate does have some say about what we watch on TV, so I save up my hockey games to watch the Sabres. Also, if teams are really awful, I probably won't watch. For example, I wouldn't watch LA versus Philly, because who really cares about that, anyway? And the Devils are boring. I only watch them if they're in the playoffs or playing the Sabres.

Cause they are a bunch of bandwagon bitches.

It pisses me off too. I was a cubs fan until all those jackasses came out of the woodwork when the cubs started winning a few years back.

I get mad too because then you get lumped in too with these people who are not real fans.

Dunno what to tell you other than I feel ya.

Hey, I'm a Blue Jackets fan. There's not even a bandwagon WHEEL to jump on here in Columbus! But, bandwagoning is a part of life, just a stinky, irritating, loud-mouthed part of life. So we all have to deal with it. Oh well.

they're called bandwagoners, they hop on the victory wagon when it's rolling strong. And they're the firsts off when the team goes under .500.

It's apart of all sports, I hate it too. But there's not much we can do about fair-weather fans.
