I Love McRoberts but if he wants to take his God given talents to a higher level(s), the NBA, I'd say Good luck with that my brother! Go Duke!

My gut feeling is he just didn't really like playing for Coach K...I think if most players were part of the worst season in memory for Duke, they would feel they owed it to the program to stick around and make things better. Instead, Mcroberts bolted. UNC had a similiar situation in 2003 - anyone of our freshmen would have gone in the first round, instead they stayed and won a championship.
This has the potential to be the greatest draft ever, so coming out early doesn't make a ton of sense. In last year's weak draft, he'd have been a lottery pick. Now he'll probably go mid-to-late first round. Next year, when the field will be thinner, he'd be a lottery pick again. So, the only conclusion I can draw is he simply wanted out of Duke very badly.

McRoberts is over-rated. He has some skills but his mental game is not always there. Its kinda funny that he was actually rated higher than Hansbrough on the high school scouting lists. How'd that work out for him? 1-3 against Pyscho T. Have fun sitting the bench in the NBA. At least if he stayed at Duke, he'd be able to play next year.

First let me say I'm a DIE HARD DUKE FAN!!! But I just don't think a man who can't be truely dominant in the ACC will make an impact at the next level. He never was able to develop that eye of the tiger way to close out an opponent and take over a game. He'll go the way of Mr. Battier and be a possible lottery pick, and an above average 6th man. WIsh him the best of luck though.:-)

YES he should have stayed. Me personally I am a tarheel fan, but Duke players often don't do too good in the NBA with the exception of Deng, Brand, Maggette, and maybe Duhon, but first of all that guy is really not that good. He can't bang with PF's in the NBA, and he is just plain awkward. Maybe he has a chance overseas somewhere, but not in the NBA, not even in the development league, and plus he whines too much just like Most Duke Players, no matter how hard they slap the floor they wind up losing, there will never be a great Duke team again. I could go on and on but I will not.

There was no incentive for him to stay at Duke whether he was ready or not. Big men may do well this year in the draft.

He can take these alleged "god given talents" and may he go with godspeed and a big ole prayer, cos that's about all he has going for him as far as potential NBA success.
