Chinchilla's should not be put in a harness or on a leash... They jump to much and can injure a leg break a rib or cause internal injuries.

There are many small animal leashes and harnesses. Most of them are made by size, not animal. PetSmart and PetCo both carry them, along with many other pet stores.
I would be really careful with a chinchilla though. They are VERY sensitive, if you have one on a harness and it decides to freak out for what ever reason, they can brush their ribs in the harness. So, I would really suggest not to use one with a chinchilla. If you really think you want to then, they do make them. It just depends on the size of your pet.
I would think about it and maybe find someone around who owns or breeds chinchilla's and talk to them about it first, but I would say: Don't Do It!!.....hope this helps...

They make leashes that will fit a variety of small pets, chinchillas included. Your local Pet store should be able to order one for you if they already don't have one in stock. You can also get them on line.
