How do I keep from wearing out my stiletto heals?

Go to a decent shoe repairer and get new tips fitted regularly (and re-soled).

BUT, bear in mind that stilettos bear the brunt of your weight and, accordingly, the spindle within the heel can break with the forces it has to support. The only way to try to avoid this is not to buy cheap shoes.

Wear them to bed only with a pair of thigh high stockings.
