How do I find out the IR Code for my DirecTV receiver (D12-300)?

I have a replay tv 5040, but I can't figure out what the IR code is to my D12-300 DirecTV receiver. How do I figure this out?

Slide the bar across the top to which ever function your trying to controll. Then press the select & mute at the same time this will make the green light at the top of your remote blink twice. now you must press code 991 and start pressing the channel button up or down untill your tv shuts off once it does press select again and you have it.
