@ f-ball. Athletics keep him @ school late during bb season but now that is over. He is struggling to keep his grades up,sometimes I think we put more effort into him passing that he does. To make it short, we feel like an atm. He is always asking for $. His best friends @ g-friend live in the next town and he is NEVER home. This is spring break and we havent seen him except to get $. When I say anything he says he wants to be with his friends,it doesnt mean he doesnt love us. there is so much more that i cannot get in the whole story but it seems he never wants to be home and NO hes not doing drugs, I know that for sure. Just since last friday we have given him 100.00 Haircut, buying a swimsuit, gas, eating out because hes never home. Do we just stop and say NO MORE? GET A JOB?? Or only allow so much per week and once its gone its gone or what? My husband says he's ther baby and as long as he can do for him he will but it's driving me CRAZY!!!! please help with any suggestions.......

im 17 too...and i did that for a while :-/ here was my parents solution-
1- i had to get a job, and pay for my luxuries...
2- as long as my grades are A's my mom gives me $30 a week for gas and $25 for food- each grade that goes down i get 2 dollars off each thing (like- if i get a b i get $28 for gas and 23 for food)
3- as long as my grades are up (still) and i havent gotten into any trouble- i can go out on weekends till 12 and weeknights til l10

and at this age you DO want to be your friends, even if you love your parents...
this really worked on me!!
hope it helped...

You know what you need to do. Put your foot down and not give him the money, make him earn it. He is still under your roof and he needs to go by your rules. Seems to me you both as parents are more his friends then parents!
