On my days off or when I don't have to go into work until 2pm, I have a hard time wanting to get out of bed until just before popping into the shower... "It's like what's the point to sit there and do what?" I need a new light of motivational advice.

PS. I'm not suicidal- just bored.

Weekdays, I wake up to go to work which I enjoy, but there are times where it's the same old stuff. On the upside, it pays for what I want to do, plus save for my future where I won't have to work.

On weekends, sometimes I just like to lounge in bed and catch up on sleep. Other times, I just want to see what's happening out there. Heard of a new restaurant, see a new movie, buy some groceries to try out a new recipe, walk my dogs and watch them chase squirrels, buy a newspaper and lounge around the house or just go out with friends.

Just find stuff you like to do and go try it out.
I think it's really straight forward. Just don't talk yourself out of doing things.

Not to sound preachy, but we control whether we're "bored" or not. Maybe my view is too simplified, but it's all a state of mind and where we put ourselves.

Go to the animal pound and rescue a stray cat. If you get a relative of the one we got, you will never have trouble getting out of bed again. It knows the only task it has in life is to pounce on me with claws extended at 5:30 every morning. The biggest problem with this cat is that it also knows that from the time I leave for work, until the time I get home, all she has to do is sleep. She insists on being held, or better yet, curling around my neck for at least three hours every night. As I think about this, would you like a cat??? I know where you can get one cheap.

Read The 8th Habit by Stephen Covey.

Not really a self-help book, not really a motivational book, but it clarified (at least for me) the day-to-day process of achieving improvement.

Set a goal, that is external to yourself, and then spend every day achieving.

My darn alarm clock. It's not a regular beepy clock, it's got annoying sayings that keep repeating over and over...such as a gay guy (no offense to anyone...it's the best way to explain it) repeating "Get outta bed, sleepyhead!" then it goes into a mechanical drip drip drip drip noise. It really sucks when you have to go to the bathroom! I have no choice but to get up. (My step-father has NO taste in gifts lol.)

Find a hobby you enjoy that you can do in your spare time when you do get out of bed early. Knitting, crocheting, writing, answers, something. Good luck!

I know this is going to sound gross to everybody, but the thing that motivates me to get out of the bed every morning is my old man saying "get up now cuz I am going to fart". Not making this up, True Story.

My 21-month old son yelling "Mom! Mom!" or my 4 year old daughter tapping on my head saying "I want pancakes."

However, since I suspect neither of those will motivate you, try picking up a hobby.
