i heard that france was the first country to have toilets is this true?

Thomas Crapper invented the flushing kind. He was from London I think. If your talking about the modern invention.

Sorry. Spoke to soon. I guess he didn't invent it completely. Check out the link though. Very informative. That's how I found out I was kind of wrong.

The archaeological excavations confirm existence of sitting type toilets in Egypt (2100 BC) also. Though we have been able to mechanize the working of these toilets, the form and basic format of the toilet system remains the same. In Rome, public bath-***-toilets were also well developed. There were holes in the floor and beneath was a flowing water.

England. First it was chamber pots. Then it was a long chute into the back of the palace. It just grew from there.
