Especially when they are young adults & say they are raising money for college? They almost don't take "no" for an answer. Do you think they're rude? Do you just not open the door? Please share. Thanks.

We just do the obvious, but for me for years it wasnt. I didnt want to hurt their feelings. stilldont. But, we dont ask them to come to our door, most are dishonest. and most are rude and wont go when asked, so why are we concerned if they are upset with us.? If I see them coming, I ignore the door. But, If I do open it, I say ONCE No thank you, not interested. sorry and please dont come back. I dont want sales ppl at my house. If you do that, you wuld be shocked at how many dont come back. Say it nice, blunt but not mean. and if that doesnt do it put up a NO SOLICITATION sign, for its against the law to knock where than sign is. How friendly would they be if we went bothering them all the time. Same with phone sales ppll. I do all I just said. And I tell them, if they dont take instant NO... I would like your phone number, and we can talk later, too busy now , so I will call you later tonight and we can talk, maybe you can sell me your product and I can sell you something> I make mosaic pots and I would love to sell you one. Give me your number please. They instantly hang up every time. Takes on a few seconds, no time wasted...

I understand these people are simply trying to make a living, but I actually find it an invasion on my privacy. I am not an impulse buyer, so before they even start the sales pitch, I tell them don't bother and leave it at that. If they want to hang around when they have been told no thank you, that is there problem.

youthful guy stored asking me to allow him in lower back and lower back. I advised him I wasn't going to allow him in, thank you yet I wasn't fascinated, and he stored repeating "Why do not you invite me in? Why won't you permit me in?" and leaning into the door way until i became compelled to close (not slam) the door in his face. i did not understand besides the fact that if he became attempting to sell me something or case the area.
