They may be bipolar or the alcohol may be causing the severe mood swings or a combination of both. Severe mood swings are the major symptom....intense highs where they are happy, energetic, talkative and tend to go on spending sprees, then the very deep lows where they are quiet, cry, depressed, anxious, dark. If this person is experiencing these signs, get him to a Doctor. The right medications(without the drinking) can help them be more balanced. Alcohol is a depressant so it only makes the mood swings worse. Alanon is a great group for families and friends of alcoholics and there you will find a lot of helpful information as well. Goodluck and I hope you are able to help them get help.

The blogbaba figures at any given time anyone can be diagnosed with "Bipolar disorder" because everyone has mood swings. It becomes a medical problem when the behavior starts to negatively impact on the individual's life, and the "mood swings" surpass normality. I have a 21 year old daughter who has been dealing with the label since about the age of 8. It's a life long ordeal for those afflicted, and attempting to manually re-adjust chemical imbalances in your brain with drugs is not an easy task. Unfortunately for them, the alternative is insanity, so they have no choice, medical science is just about the only option they have. The DSMIII lists a pre-occupation with religiosity as a symptom of many mental illness's for a reason. Mentally ill people who fail to reach a medical solution to their problems have little choice to turn to God. I'm not religious myself, but I understand the connection.
Right now, my daughter attends a junior college not to far from our home, and deals as best she can with her problems. I am truly amazed she has done as well as she has, and all you really can do is pray for people like that in the hopes that they do well. Offer as much support as you are able and leave the rest to God. You don't get "through" such things, until you or the other person die, it is a life long endeavor.

Eh... That is a difficult one. I was once honestly misdiagnosed Bipolar, however then rediagnosed as BPD. Borderline Personality Disorder is a character sickness, that develops inside your formative years, relying in your emotional growth- it includes immoderate temper swings, and plenty of character role problems that's generally impacted, and brought on by way of the humans you engage with. BPD could also be a arguable situation- many think that Borderline isn't truly. Because this is a slight, or no longer wholly constructed sickness of MPD- or Multiple Personality Disorder, since you don't have modify egos.. Many medical professionals think those stipulations don't exist. Biploar Disorder is a chemical imbalance, that many think develops at beginning- it includes 3 levels- adding a degree level, depressive level, and manic level.. BPD, and Bipolar each have the stigma of getting temper swings- however Bipolar mania is available in levels, as BPD mania is unpredictable, and is found by way of the law, or disorder of your emotional state. However, neither ailments are curable- most effective treatable by way of healing, and treatment. I could consider BPD signs, together with Bipolar Disorder- reminiscent of Black, and white pondering. Splitting/ disassociation comes at levels- and plenty of immoderate, and impulsive urges, and behaviors are brought on by way of the way you react emotionally with others. But it is extremely difficult, and complex to pinpoint 2 intellectual issues that coexist with each and every different, once they each incorporate an identical signs. They virtually compromise each and every different.. from the opinion of my psychologist, Biploar/ BPD cannot customarily coexist in combination- and being that Bipolar Disorder is probably the most ordinarily misdiagnosed intellectual sickness within the psychiatric subject, it would be incorrectly identified.. Many of the ones with BPD, have a moment intellectual ailment that coexists with being Borderline. Anxiety, and Depression are probably the most traditional. But Bipolar Disorder is simply as risky, and unpredictable as BPD. It would even be Depression/ BPD- even be definite to notice that Bipolar Disorder entails plenty of signs that mimic, or are very similar to many different intellectual issues, or visa versa. I could get the opinion of a 3rd health practitioner. It can take years to adequately diagnose a character. I am no longer pronouncing it's truly, it would simply be a false impression, or difficult to monitor down, and recognize. Good good fortune..

Lots of people who have BP tend to drink. I sure did.
For me, when I drank a lot it could go one of two ways: 1.) I'm super happy and having the time of my life, or 2.) my mood comes crashing down and I'm ready to brawl with the first person who looks at me wrong.
What happened was I'd either go sit in the car and wait til my friends were done, I'd talk to everyone in sight and be super happy, or I'd go after someone for the hell of it.
