There are cons to everything... The thing about breastfeeding is that the cons only effect the mother. All babies benefit by being breastfed.

Its definatly hard... you need to be prepared for that. It sometimes takes alot of dedication, and its good that you are researching everything now.

The thing with breastfeeding though, is that the baby will benefit from *any* amount of breastmilk. Breastmilk can heal wounds and clear up infections... can you imagine what it can do for a new babies system? Can you imagine what that can do for a toddlers system, for that matter?

You can always switch to bottles, but going from bottles to breast is ALOT harder.

Youve already started researching... find out as much as you can and prepare yourself for breastfeeding. Deal with the problems as they arise... you may not run into many at all!

I could list the many reasons i love breastfeeding... but it will be more fun for you to discover the wonders for yourself... everything just seems to come full-circle

I would try breastfeeding and if you dont like it then formula or if you cant then do formula. i planned on breastfeeding both of my children.. i had an emergency c-section that they put the eipideral to low in and knocked me out completely before i even had a chance to breastfeed he had already had the bottle and didnt want anything else afterwards. It was easy though, just making a bottle and being done. I'm currently breastfeeding my second one and it can be hard and takes some time, but the bond between us is very nice and it his excema would be much worse without breastfeeding. Its really what kind of person you are. If you have the time and patience breasfeed, if you dont have much time or have trouble staying in one spot to long bottlefeed. Good luck on your decision.

Your nipples will be sore for a few days, your breasts can be very swollen & sore if baby isn't nursed on time, the milk can leak if too full or sometimes be triggered by a baby crying.
Your breasts will never be the same shape or size, and many people are still against nursing your baby, especially in public.

It's totally up to you and your comfort level. I nursed all 3 of my sons, and I think it's a big part of why we have such a close relationship now that they are men.

You may as well try it.
If you try breastfeeding and don't like it, you can switch to formula. But if you try formula first and don't like it, you're stuck then.
I breastfed both my kids (still am breastfeeding the second) and there are a few cons, like nipple soreness at the beginning, but that passes quickly. I returned to work with both of them and pumped milk for my husband to feed. For most women it is possible.
