My wife and I are very active and love working out, skiing, biking, and want a great nightlife and great restaurants. That is our thing---eating out when we can.

What do people think between these two choices? We have lived in Vegas for over 8 years, so I know the heat pretty well. But looking for a great town to settle down and really get the real estate careers going.

I have lived in Denver before and boy, do I love it! I also like Phoenix.
For your choices, it is really a matter of what each of these great cities has that you want. For example, skiing. Denver has a lot of great places that you can go to and explore (Loveland, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Winter Park, Steamboat Springs, Eldora, Aspen, Vail, Beavercreek, and more).
As for AZ, there are less places to go skiing (Mt. Lemmon, Arizona Snowbowl, Sunrise Park, Elk Ridge, and AZ Nordic center) - that said I don't know how long these are in operation.
Denver is known as the "most fit state" and the reason is that there are many things to see and do. What I like the most is the cultural diversity you can enjoy in festivals, restaurants, and acquaintances. However, Phoenix is a bigger city with wider streets, and with more corporate organizations.

Since you want to get your real estate career going, it probably is better to find out which of the two cities has a better market. I know for a fact that Denver is having a hard time in the arena. I don't know about Phoenix.

Someone has already mentioned about the cold weather in CO. I personally don't think it is that cold in Denver, since it is not nestled between the mountains, the snow on the road is melted by mornign but you will be able to enjoy it in the grass, trees, etc. with no problem on the roads, unless you have a storm. Yes, the winter is cold but not harsh.

Good luck to both you and your wife.

You're not really going to go wrong with either city. I'd probably, of those two, pick Denver. Denver is a little closer to skiing than Phoenix - if you're in Phoenix, you'd have to drive to Flagstaff or the white mountains to go skiing, whereas in Denver you're already close to the Rockies. Denver has a bit more culture than Phoenix, as well, and at least downtown is more walkable, with a nice bike trail that stretches through the downtown area.

But I don't think you'd be disappointed with Phoenix, which also has more restaurants than Denver and, except for the blast of heat in the summer, better weather.

I'd say Denver for the skiing and biking...but unfortunately neither city has the best restaurants or nightlife (compared to Vegas, or other more sophisticated cities). We moved to Denver (and are in Phoenix a lot for my husband's work) from the east coast, and find the quality of restaurants pretty low.

Ok well for me i would pick Denver why u ask? Because hit has all that you and your wife are looking for. You can go skining and biking in the mountains. Nightlife is ok and the restaurants are good but watch out for those prices. But if you do choose to move there better get used to the cold weather.

My recommendation would be to check with the state realty boards to find out where it is easiest to requalify. I thought Vegas was the "hottest" market in the country right now!

By the way, Denver has some good restaurants but it's not a dining mecca in my opinion. If you want four star you had better look elsewhere. There is lots to do especially if you like concerts and festivals in the mountains.

For truly property, your first-rate guess is definetly Phoenix. It is developing, however it has boundries, considering that the reservations and govt lands avoid it from spreading too a ways, so it is going to ultimately end up a restrained commodity in which the charges will upward push in step with availability. Additionally, you could have plenty of couples relocating there with cash, so the organizations are catering to this organization of affluents who wish to experience luxurious dwelling and all that is going with it. It is attracting cast organizations, so in contrast to Detroit, or Denver, in which there are a few sharp downturns of their economic system so closely entrenched in just one or 2 forms of industries, Phoenix is extra varied, and including laptop and prime tech sort firms at a tight clip. The price of dwelling isn't insufferable and the taxes aren't too unhealthy. Selection of houses in extraordinary fee levels present all forms of choices if that's what you're watching for, however the condominium/townhouse form dwelling and their ammenities are so well, why hassle with proudly owning except you wish to hire it out for sales. You have a plethera of the first-rate retail outlets to be had like in Vegas, and the eating is wealthy. Winter physical games, like in LA, to Mammoth, simply force north and you'll have the entire snowboarding to be had to you, or hop on a airplane to Utah, or to Mammoth, Ca. You can fly wherever inside a few hours to move snowboarding, and nonetheless come residence to quality hot climate, while your ft are close to frozen. We simply cherished dwelling there, however now with children grown, married and dwelling in different places, correct now, we comply with the grandkids. Maybe one day once more, we can transfer again to Phoenix.
