Why is age seen as a curse in the modern world? In the ancient world age was revered, it was a sign of a journey, a sign of life and survival.

Now people want to look as young as possible, if people do not get botox by 21 then they are outcasts.
People also want younger bodies so they strive for size 0 which is the size of a 7 year old, has a youth obsessed culture gone too far?

The fountain of youth is age. Wrinkles become unnoticable after a certain age such as 80. If people lived to be 200 they would all end up looking like a natural 80 year old.

The fountain of youth is in age, it is not at the end of a scaple or in a poison.

This is not a materialist question, all societies are materialist to an extent (they all use cash).
This is a question of personal vanity which affects everyone regardless of race, sex, religion etc.
The question is just how obsessed are people on a personal level compared to that on a wider social level?

Of course we do. alot of people want to be like the people we see on tv/movies/music world/models. the unrealistic perfect skin, perfect figure. expensive clothes and jewellery, I think some people think that all this gives them some kind of status. To be young and beautiful. Some naturally good looking people are like that too.

I assume you're talking about the U.S. Absolutely we do. You can thank the media and advertising for it, I'm afraid. It's worse in some areas than others. Like Southern California.
