depends what you are talking about giving up. If it's your struggle for life, you give up about a millisecond after you draw your last breath. If your talking abandoning a project or course that is just not working out, then you have to be more practical, what is it going to cost you to proceed, is that going to be repaid if you do proceed, what is it going to cost you to quit? Sometimes though, we venture into something that really appeals to us, then in the process of per suing that, we find out we are just not good at it, and in fact don't like doing it, THEN you are justified in changing directions.
