Bridge is kind of like the "chess of card games".

I would suggest these links:

It is often played as "duplicate Bridge" where lots of tables play with exactly the same cards and then compare their results. This greatly reduces the luck factor of the game.

The full details get pretty complicated, but for a very quick overview:

Bridge is a "trick taking game" played by 2 partnerships. First players bid to determine what is trump. Complicated "conventions" have developed to give certain sequences of bids certain meanings. Sometimes bidding 4C could mean I want clubs to be trump, sometimes it can mean I don't have any clubs in my hand.

It can be pretty daunting, so I might suggest learning spades, and possible pinochle, or even whist (the game the bridge sort of evolved from) first. Bridge is most complicated than any of them, but kind of combines elements that exist in those games.
