To those of you who own bearded dragons... have you ever wondered if they're hurt or not?? I mean mine always love to jump around, sometimes fall off the couch/table (sometimes land on her head and still runs around), bump into walls, etc....

...but this time I think she really injured herself while she was in the tank. She tends to run around and sometimes jump against the glass, and I think that's what led to her injury in one of her hind legs, because she is limping and I'm a bit worried. She is a young adult, and some other days she's not so active (specifically after her pregnancy) and now she currently is... Should I bring her to the vet?

Hi, The first thing you should do is make sure she is eating and going to the bathroom normally. If not, its a sign she is definately in pain. I would recommend taking her to a reptile vet if you have one. I have had many beardies, and they are pretty resilient, but if she is limping for more than 2-3 days, she may have done more than just bruise her leg. They can sprain or dislocate their legs. If you can handle her, feel the hip joint and the knee joint to see if there seems to be any swelling or bulging where there shouldnt be. It may help to compare it to the other side. If so definately take her to a herp vet. A domestic vet wont know enough about lizards to be of much help.
Good luck!

I have a bearded dragon, and I do worry about him hurting himself.

If she's limping, I would take her to the vet just to be safe. There's probably not that much they can do, a little lizard cast would be cute... but I doubt that. But they may just have you take the sticks out and stuff to keep her from jumping for a while until she gets a little better.
