all the insanely expensive uber-preppy crap like abercrombie & fitch, aeropostale, american eagle, hollister, etc. YUCK! I can dress somewhat preppy but I'm not gonna waste my money & pay $150 for one top & a pair of jeans thanks!!! I can get twice the amount of clothes for the same amount of money somewhere else!
Oh yea & carrying around an energy drink seems to be the thing too. A few friends of mine & I made the mistake of going up to our local mall on a friday night (we call it prosti-tot night) & everywhere we turned all the little middle & highschoolers had a friggin energy drink (monster & red bull most common) in their hands! wow like those kids really need more energy!
I've only been outta high school 6 years in May but good god how things have changed......

I graduated high school 7 years ago (wow...it is weird to say that), but I am working at a hs right now as an intern and here is what I see:
Layering shirts
Skinny jeans
Ballet flats
Designer purses (LV, Gucci, Prada, etc.)
Dangly earrings
Straught sleek hair
short mini skirts

oh boy.. well, for girls, ballet flats or the slip on clogs are very popular. mini skirts w/ or w/ out leggings are in, along with ripped jeans. most shirts i see girls wear ( and myself ) are tight fitting. for guys, tight tees and jeans, or polos. i see a lot of guys with either skating shoes, running sneakers, or basketball sneakers. for hair, soo many girls straighten their hair. boys are growing their hair out longer, but some guys keep it short, both are in. a lot of people are "scene" or "emo". they wear black, and scene people wear rainbow colors too. they tend to gel their hair a lot and mess it all up. for bags, Coach and Dooney & Burke are popular brands. for backpacks i see a lot of L.L. Bean with names printed on the back. Popular stores are Hollister, A&F, American Eagle, Forever 21, Aeropostale, and Delia's. This is from a girls point of view, so I don't know what the guys think is in, but thats what seems to be popular lately. so now you're filled "in" !!

I dont know about everywhere but me and all my friends recently dropped about 400 dollars on Chanel Back packss so cutee

going to starbucks...and other cute coffee shops. tiffany jewelery for girls, relic watches for boys. drinking vitamin water. lots of girls tend to study "fashion industry" and other business stuff; the ones who study something else are "uncool". personally, i think studying whatev you're good at is better. i'm a "prep" but i don't feel like i need to do everything everyone else does. (i hate business)

skinny jeans, straight hair with short trendy haircuts, black ankle boots, slouchy hats, leggings with shorts, leggings with big t-shirts, HUGE sunglasses, anything from urban outfitters, big slouchy leather bags with huge pockets and metal clasps, big belts, shoes from rite aid, vans, skulls, akon, avril lavigne, fergie, gwen stefani, saying, "thats what she said," drinking, partying, lying, and cheating
thats what's in inside my southern california high school.
as for me, i shop at salvation army :-D
