Sanjaya didn't even make bottom 2 this week? granted, his last performance was better than his previous, but still- that ain't sayin' much. He is just not good enough, & I just can't see why he beat out Sundance & Stephanie, & can't remember other, & Chris Richardson got bottom 2 instead. unbelievable!

I'm guessing you have not heard of vote for the worst... it's a website asking others to vote for the worst american idol to end the show. it's not that sanjaya has a fan base, he has a following to bring a.i. to an end. (so i read on a recent news article) personally, i think the show needs to end, and sanjaya will be the end- if he wins... which is looking pretty good. i just hope the poor kid knows he's not a great singer and it's all a prank.

I heard that one of the other networks is playing a part in Sanjaya continuing on in American Idol. First, they want the show to fail (so try to keep on a guy who can't sing), second, ABC is planning a new tv series pilot featuring the Geico Caveman. Rumor has it that they have already struck a deal for Sanjaya to star in the sitcom. I'll be sure to watch...

I think it's a combo of Howard Stern (he has a huge campaign to make Sanjaya the next American Idol, in effort to make a mockery of the show); and the teenage girls that love his hair.
OR, my personal conspiracy theory is that maybe AI is doing this all on purpose to boost ratings ... they always have to come up with some scandal ... and America's votes don't necessarily matter. Then they will boot him after a while. Just a theory...
Either way, I personally think that it is ridiculous that he even made it to "Hollywood" in the first place.

There's been a story floating around that Howard Stern has been encouraging his listeners to vote for Sanjaya as a way to mock the Idol program. That's one of the few reasonable explanations I can think of. He's terrible!

The sooner you build your fan base, the better your chances of getting the votes that keep you around. It also helps to stay by the telephone and keep hitting that redial key; that's the only thing that keeps your favorites in the running.
Just look at Carrie Underwood.
