I have a very sore and raw spot "down there" ....It started as an itchy spot and I think I scratched way to hard and cut it up. I'm using over the counter stuff for it but its more or less the same. Although I'm 23 i've never seen a GYN and theres no way I want to...
Do you think it could be something worse???

Who likes going to a GYN...but your going to have to one day...why don't you want to go. Find a female doctor! It could be anything or nothing but a yeast infection.. and the only one that would know that is a GYN...why you so scared??

I think you should definitely have it checked out, especially if you are sexually active. You want to make sure it's not anything serious. And you want to get it treated before it gets worse. I know going to see a GYN can be a pain, but it really is beneficial for you. If there is something going on, you don't want to wait until it gets too bad. I'm sure everything is fine, just get it checked out to be sure. Good luck! Also, don't scratch and then put something on it. That just irritates it more because it's open after scratching it.

I have had a similair problem before from time to time-i will have a bit of irritation and make it way worse myself as you said by scratching-i know it sounds silly but what always makes it not be sore and eventually go away for me it too put a small glob of vaseline and rub it around the area-do it several times during the day and before you go to bed and you should be able to tell that you feel less pain when the vaseline is applied and it should start to go away in a couple days---------if not then you may have to go to the dr. but that always works for me.Vaseline wont irritate it more like some creams can.
