where has all my memory gone, on my xd memory card?

i have a 256mb memory card for my digital camera. i have deleted all the pictures, my camera says no image and i can't find anything stored on it when i connect to my pc. but when i look at the properties i only have 79.6 mb of free space on it. is this normal? whats taking up the other 170 mb?

Try formatting it in the camera. did you get it on Ebay?- there are millions of dodgy Chinese cards which are not the stated capacity.
