I am 14 years old and am going into highschool next year. I had to chose between College Prep. and Carrear/Tech. Since i get A's and B's on my report card, i decided to take College Prep. , but that got me to thinking, what do i plan on doing later in life.... I have been taking guitar lessons for about 4 years, and i am really good at it... (infact just a couple days ago i played for one of my choir concerts). I have been thinking about going to college for guitar, but i thought about it and i thought that there wouldnt be to many jobs/Colleges for guitar-ing around Ohio, and even if there was, they probably wouldnt pay much.My other choice is probably Law Enforcement. I love to watch cops, and have been thinking about being onesince i was very young.... I like to play video game where u can be a police officer and do drug busts and pull people over and such, and i think i would make a good police officer... If anybody has any ideas on how to help me play tell me

Why can't you do both?

At 26 I'm just now saying goodbye to alot of the friends I made when I was your age. And for one reason. They never learned that you can have more than one passion, or path to your goal. I respect the fact that I know people who dedicate every day to the pursuit of writing music, but you too may find yourself chasing an unattainable success.

On the flipside, who says you have to give up music to practice law enforcement? Being a cop may be strenuous, but you will still have some nights and weekends off. In theory you could have a band, play weekend shows, or put your talents to other uses like music engineering, or jingle writing.

My advice is to practice music as much as you can, do well in school and become a cop,(if that's what you'll still want), there's no reason to waste your life not realising you can't have both.

Well I play trumpet, piano, everything mostly. I really would say musicain if it wasn't SO hard. It is easier to be a police officer. If you can tough it out through the training. My advice officer you can go up in ranks and get good money. If you like animals, horses or dogs you can go in with them. hope you choose. I am going to be a Veterinarian.
