Health inspectors are called "sanitarians". Most have a background in public health. Some colleges offer a degree in public health. The county, or some other government agency, employ health inspectors. Call the county you would like to work for and ask what qualifications are necessary for employment. Be aware that health inspectors are usually county, or some other government entity, employees and in most places the counties are short of money. Many places have cut back on health inspectors when they've had budget cuts. You're going to have to do some calling around to research this in the places you'd like to work. Good luck.
