I like what DJ wrote. I am so tired of people saying that black women are loud, fat, uneducated and ghetto. Both of my parents went to college. I have a degree and NO CHILDREN! Everything on yahoo answers is negative against black women for the most part.
It makes me sad that people can so easily judge all of us based on the few people they know or the ignorant characters they see portrayed on TV.
Personally, I date all types of guys and the comment I always get is well, "you aren't really black." For some reason ignorance has become synonymous with black in our society.
The truth of the matter is, there are a vast number of educated black women who are single because some black men are intimated by their education. Time magazine did a cover story on this issue a few years ago. ..

DJ and JT hit the nail on the head, there is a lot of negative stereotyping of black women by black men (and vice versa).
I go out and men of all colours appreciate me shall I say but black men seldom chat me up.
I'm confident and honest and won't suffer fools gladly, unfortunately, some black men date other races as they know some women will blame 'differences' on culture when a black woman will tell him he is being an asshole.
I'm all for interracial dating, but why do I get looks of death from black guys when im out with a sexy white guy?
Strange!

Okay, I'm obviously not a black man, but I can tell you what one said to me. He said he would not date black women because they were too loud and demanding. As I got to know him better I realized that he meant they actually wanted him to have a job and be a decent person! I'm sure he doesn't represent all black men, but I applaud a woman of any race for not dating someone like that. Black women may have to start dating other races if there are not enough black men to go around. I am not opposed to interracial dating or marriage, btw.

Why does the op believe she is superior to black American women? Truth is that this is happening all over the planet. African men are leaving in droves settling in Europe mating with white women. The Chinese expelled African male students from its universities. In the Caribbean black males are rejecting black women becoming prostitutes servicing white women & white homosexuals in the sex tourism industry. African, Caribbean Brazilian & Latin American black males are doing this too. This behavior s the after effects from the legacies of slavery, colonialism, Aparthied, Jim Crow and the cultures of white supremacy that were created in African nations & blacks living in white nations. Bleaching skin creams to look white are huge industries patronized by blacks outside of America. The beliefs, ideas, images & the influence of white supremacy are still alive today & exist all over the planet in media, education, politics and more. Many blacks in Canada are Caribbean immigrants and this problem is prevalent there as well. There's no point in denial & division among black women. Some or even many black males have internalized the cultural messages, images, ideas & stereotypes of white supremacy and have this mindset. It has nothing to do with the women. Black women have been affected by white supremacy as well black women are greatly devalued & often degraded or ignored & made invisible living under the cultures & values that are based upon white supremacy.

You should stop only going for black men and try to date some white men, hispanic, men, and other races. Black men I hate to say it have a huge chip on their shoulders and love to have a white women on it to relieve the pressure of being a black man. It makes them feel better about themselves. I'm not saying that that isn't normal because it is. Humans tend to go for things that others consider better by society, clothing, cars, houses, entertainment. I've always been attracted to white guys so I date them, I've also dated blacks/other races too. Don't limit yourself, because you have the right to be happy too.

Black men still marry Black women more than any other type of ethnic group. Just because the few get more attention for being with non-Black women, it does not mean that there aren't brothers who marry Black women.

Yes, if you go to the Caribbean and Africa you will see that black women are highly appreciated. I have been out with white and Asian women but nothing compares to a black woman. With a black woman i feel safe, warm and where i belong. when i go out with white or Asian women i am constantly on guard from racism and attacks, i don't feel relax. With a black woman i can walk down the street and don't have the whole street watching us. when i have a bad day at work ( racism) i can vent out my frustration without hearing ''you're just being paranoid''. Black men and women understand each other better. We experience the same hostility. BTW i want my kids to look like me.

Of course we are. The population of Nigeria alone is over 140million. just because black men sleep with other races it doesn't mean that they don't appreciate black women. Black men just LOVE women.
