The Earth acts like nearly a point mass compared to its distance from the Sun. Therefore, its orbital angular momentum is simply its mass (6 x 10^24 kg) times [2 pi radians/length of year (3.15 x 10^7 sec)] times the square of the distance [1.5 x 10^11 meters]

2.4 x 10^40 kg m^2/sec
