It's not the speakers, device manager would be looking for the sound card not speakers.

First, update your antivirus and run a scan to make sure there is no mal-ware causing the problem. Sometimes viruses like to attack peripherals.

If that doesn't work:
If you have an on-board sound card (one that cannot be removed from the computer) then you may want to consider purchasing a new sound card... they should be fairly inexpensive.
If you have a plug-n-play card (one that can be removed) power the computer off, remove the card, reseat it in the PCI slot securely and try again. If that doesn't resolve the issue, try a new sound card.

k.dont worry.first check ur sound card is in working condition or not.it might be hard problem.if it is , then remove the card and wipe the copper tips of the card with eraser.now insert the card and go to control panel.open add new hardware and add ur soundcard.it will ask for the driver.install the correct driver for your sound card and restart your pc.now it will get allright.

It may actually BE the hardware's problem... Have you attempted to replace your computer's speakers? Occasionally, they do go bad. You can obtain inexpensive ones and use them to test to see if it is your computer's ability to send music to the speakers. If they work - then your existing speakers just went bad. If not, then you can pursue other remedies.

I wish I could help more. Peace!
