I am not due for AF until Monday and have taken a First Response today but heard that it's not always the best one. Any suggestions?

Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

I used the brand "Answer" and it showed i was pregnant 7 days before my period was due.

If you are NOT due until Monday then do not test. Your best results will be after you have missed your period. Yes they do say they can read sooner, however they may be reading the fertilized egg...and it may not find a place to attach {implant} and hang out for 9 months.
So anyway to answer your question, there is no better. My doctor even told me that I can use the Dollar store ones. Once you have missed your cycle your HCG level is available to read right away. If you get a negative though wait another 3/4 days to see if AF comes and if not then either call your doctor or do another test. However I have to share that I know a girl at 3 months pregnant sitting in her Doctors office and took a pee test and it came out negative. So again if you don't get your AF the first day test, if negative test again 3/4 days out and if still negative and still no AF then call your doctors.

Off brands have always worked great for me. I have used Target brands, WalMart brands, Longs Brands. I have never used first response but have heard negative items
I have also tried a brand called EQUATE. Cheap (under 5 bucks) works great
Just because they are less inexpensive doesnt mean they are bad. Most pregnancy tests are all the same

I always have the best luck with an off brand. THe dollor store ones are really good and they are only 1$ a piece! I even have used them to find out before a missed period :) Good Luck!!

With my son I used one of the digital ones I think it was called clear response. Its one of the only digital ones and it was accurate about a week before my missed period

I always took the early tests. Anything that said "Up to 5 days sooner" on it.

there is no best one they all go by urine and test a hormone in it. Blood test is always the best and you know in the same day.
