The Scorpions were the best band, but they weren't exactly hair metal, if you're talking strictly hair metal, then I would say Ratt or X. Those bands were the epitome of hair metal. There are a lot of good 80's bands, that era was the best era ever. I love their music, their clothes, their style, there's nothing else like it. The guys wearing the tight clothes and having the long, teased hair....so sexy.

All had exceptional albums during the 80s.
I personally would pick The Stone Roses

Oh sweet jesus, is this a tough question.
My favorites are the scorpions, def lepard, van halen, duran duran, journey, INXS, poison, white snake, aerosmith (but they were also around in the 70s and such) Billy idol not a band, though) bob segar, Cheap Trick, Iron maden.... i could go on but I don't think I have the time. : )

lol at the flock of seagulls, and Kiss is '70s by the way. all in all my favorite '80s band is probably guns and roses because slash is such an amazing guitarist. My favorite singer would probably ozzy just for his first two albums because of randy rhoads.

That would be a tie between TEARS FOR FEARS and INXS, they both carried on into the 90s but are always referred to as 80s. They both ruled and I still love their music except I dont like the new INXS, I think its a crock and disgrace to Michael's memory.

U2. They are one of the all time greats! The Joshua Tree is one of my all time favorite albums! Isay they were the best band of the 90's and this decade to.
