Yes, brown pretty much always means there's blood in the discharge. This usually means its a period, but it could be spotting or bleeding for another reason too. But yes, a period is most likely! Period blood tends to look brown if there's not alot of blood, so that it and it mixes with alot of normal discharge.

Most likely, a test would have to be done by the Dr. to be sure. However; the begining of your period can contain old menstrul blood that was not shed the month befor, this appears as brown. Or at the very end days of the period, same story. Hope that helps.

Are you using hormonal Birth Control? Many times this is the beginning of your period... when you add extra hormones to your body it plays "catch-up". If you missed a pill, or if you're on your "sugar" pills you may have gotten the hormone that initiates your menstruation but until the rest of your hormones catch up, not only will it look weird but it could also feel differerntly as well. The brown is just blood tainting.

Your first couple periods can be brown in color...so yes...you are likely starting your period. Make sure you are using a pad because it may get heavier without notice.

Possibly. Mine is normally brown at the beginning and the end, and when it tapers off. I wouldn't worry about it. If you never begin bleeding regularly, you should call your doctor and get checked. It can never hurt to make sure everything's okay, but I wouldn't worry.

Possibly. If it's the time of month you usually get it.

Brown = low progesterone. Unfortunately, docs rarely know how to treat the imbalance. Either it will go away on it's own or it will get worse...like me. I am on progesterone injections now! :) FUN!

It depends if you haven't started yours yet. Sometimes after your period it wil be a little brownish. But yeah it's probably normal otherwise.
