When I was in grade school, I stood up for a kid on the school bus that was being bullied. At the time, I was angry....I didn't really think much about it. But I know, what I did was the right thing. I just fear being too prideful. I really want to be humble, I think humility and character are both great traits.

well, on a day to day basis i work with this. but in my personal life as well i act accordingly. my friend last night was having a hard time facing some stuff that he needs to deal with or will take him back out drinking. i helped him to see his strengths and how to work on his weaknesses and how just talking is a strength. things like that. what promted me? because he was hurting and needed someone who cared. when i care and have someone as a friend i give whole heartedly. i have difficulty seeing my friends hurt and do what i can to help them stop from being hurt. but i dont' do in a wishy washy way. the best example i can give would be like this. someone is starving, they have no food. you dont' feed them, you bring them and teach them how to fish or hunt. that way the next time they find themselves w/o they have the skills on how to get the food themselves. what did i learn, i learned from my experience with my friend last night that nothing happens by accident. i was on my way to a native ceremony were we pray, and i called to see how he was doing, just kind of joking i said to him, i called to tell you i'm on my way to pray for you. he was shocked, and said, "good, i need prayers" and told me what he was going through. so w/o knowing it, i did exactly what was supposed to be done. and i prayed for him.

Depends on if you are talking about good character or bad character. Good character is a matter of opinion.
