I have been trying to look around for a nice tote bag for college.. I am not really into bookbags, and I would just like something to put over my shoulder. I dosen't have to carry text books, I don't really have many, but just notebooks, folders, etc. I would like it to be able to stand on its own, not some flimsy tote. "12X'16 or around that would be a nice size.. I would like leather, I think nine west makes some nice ones..I saw a lady with a crocodile leather bag that looked perfect for me, but I don't know where she purchased it..I would like to spend under $70..Any suggestions?

Depending on the color of the crocodile bag, that very well could have been the legendary Hermes Birkin bag-very expensive, very hard to get (waiting lists can go on for years if you're not famous-sad, but true), but overall very sheek. I know what you mean;tote bags are all the rage, so I can see why you'd want a good one. I'd say invest in a slightly more expensive one than $70. While there are many cute bags at stores such as Target, they are really meant for occasional uses, not everyday wear and tear. I suggest A Ralph Lauren tote-he has many of them, and they are stylish, yet hold up very well. I got into the tote bag myself this year, and after buying quite a few different ones, I was dissapointed when they didn't hold up. Thankfully, Ralph Lauren's tote bags are a stylish and (somewhat) affordable tote that actually holds up, so you won't have to buy another one for awhile.

I'm not sure the ones that stand on their own are still called tote bags, and also...why leather?! But Gap has some great everyday bags and also totes these days are all pretty spiffy. You can probably find one you like in used brand named clothes stores. I love those stores (buffalo exchange) although I don't know if they have one where you live.

Vera Bradley has larger tote bags, laptop cases, luggage, etc. I'm not sure of the price, but if you like vera bradley, then look on the website or ebay...ive seen retired colors on ebay that you probably wouldn't be able to find at a store (apple green, bermuda pink, etc.) if you don't like vera bradley, or are looking for something else, try macys or a department store if you don't want to spend too much.

I would deff. say a Vera Bradely tote. They have tons of patterns and sizes og bags. They hold up very well. I use mine for school and it is awesome! Hope you find what you are looking for.

You know i heard that Marshalls is having a huge sale on Purses. and alot of nice named brands are there. My friend and i bought a liz claiborne tote for our senior classes and they are great. ( even for those heavy textbooks) i also reccommend you stopping by Von Maur. It is a really expensive store but worth it. And if you have one of those really nice T, J. max, they have great ones too!

You should go to Bebe they have cute bags that will hold your books. And they are until 70 dollars.
