What are all the factors that may influence population patterns? Explain.

The economy, the environment or geographic location such as the weather and population is depedent on those.

Easy,
First off you see where there is availability of FOOD and WATER (i.e. bare necessities of life) there will be population.
Secondly where there are job opportunities and chances of promotion, population rises.
In my mind these are the most important factors, If you want to categorize then it`s as follows:-
1) Physical
2) Political
3)Demographic

1.Physical Includes
(i) Land : If land is plane then population will be more, if not then it will be less compared to plane areas.
(ii)Water: Of course as it is the bare necessity of human, where there will be water, there will be people around. (e.g indus vallley civilization)
(iii)Climate; Climate also effects population, if it`s harsh like deserts and the poles, then populatin will be scarce

2.Political, includes the policies of government for immigrants of different countries to enter for job opportunities and students for education etc.

3. Demographic includes
(i) Birth rate. If birth rate of a country is high then population will be high
(ii) Death rate: if Death rate of a country is high then the population will be LOW
NOTE: COMPARE BIRTH RATE AND DEATH RATE to get weather the population is rising or falling in aggregate !
(iii) migrations: It also effect`s a country`s population as each year many people leave and enter the country permenently !

Immigration, has become a major influence on American and Canadian population studies.....the American population figures are probably 10 million less than projected do to illegals...the new American precarious Government census only accounts for tax payers, both in Canada and USA...yet we pay out to non payers as far as estimated demographics go.

Sad but it seems religion is one of the biggest causes, the catholic church teaches to be fruitful and multiply.
The poorest usually are the ones that multiply.
If they would teach that you only have as many as you can support both emotionally and financially then there would be a wonderful balance to the world I feel.
There would be less people in the world and mother earth would not be as polluted for sure.
