I've never heard of actual conception taking 6 to 8 days....? Sperm can only live up to 72 hours inside a woman's body, so once it hits the egg, there's conception. As far as you taking the tests, if they are negative and you have already gotten your period, more than likely you are not pregnant. If your "period" turns out to be more spotting and not a flow of blood, than maybe wait a few days and test again. But if it's a usual period, then no you are not pregnant. Good luck, and take care of yourself!

it is possible to be pregnant and still have a period as well as have a negative show on a test. not one of mine ever came up positive until i was at least 5 months, doc has no explanations for it other than it does happen as well as i bleed threw most my pregnancies. but go to the doc and find out. if you r not and want to be get a ovulation kit it will let you know the day you r ovulating and you will become pregnant. You can also do the thermometer way but i cant remember what the temp is supposed to be to pass that on to you but if interested again ask the doc. when you go,good luck with it

Try again...hopefully you'll get preg. next month. For a typical 28 day cycle, you should be most fertile between days 9 and 19 or try the whole time everyday always worked for me.

Sperm can live for up to 5 days. You are not fertile every day of the month. If you started your period (unless you drop more than one egg a month) you are not pregnant.
