My advice to you is to start taking a protein supplement like Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard whey protein and a Creatine supplement. You need at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. And yes, Creatine could help you gain weight, even though the majority of the weight you gain will be water weight. But because Creatine sucks all that water to your muscles, you will be able to recover faster in between sets, letting you workout more intensely which in turn will help you gain weight through gaining muscle mass. And that would be what the protein supplement is for. And don't mix it with any high fructose drink. I get the Pro Performance unflavored kind at GNC and just spoon it directly into my mouth and wash it down with water. I've heard that grape juice or orange juice lessens the absorption into your bloodstream.

Man, I am too! I need to get stronger, faster, and have more endurance. Yes Creatine will work but I wouldn't. They don't know if it has any bad side affects in such large quantities. The thing I am worried about is that Creatine is already produced in your body naturally. With it being put into your system it will make the natural creatine production stop.
That means when you stop taking it your kidneys will go nuts, and it will take a long time to get you back to normal.
You should just keep lifting hard and take protein, it has less problems and will build muscle mass just as well.
Protein shakes and bars are your best bet and cost much less than Creatine anyway.
20 lbs. will be hard to reach, but if you get quality muscle you won't need that much weight because you will be strong enough to push over anyone.
I am taking protien and I am getting much stronger and faster, I would not take the creatine.
Hope this helps!

20 lbs is a lot to gain by august. I recommend taking whey protein in addition to what you already are eating. Also look into taking NO2 and CE2. They will help you increase strength and put on about 10-15 lbs of muscle but only if you are eating right and lifting a lot. CE2 is a newer type of creatine that is more effective than the traditional creatine monohydrate which is commonly used. check at your local GNC. they can answer any more questions about these products as well as any questions about other weight gaining products.
remember though, that when it comes to gaining weight you want to gain muscle mass not fat so if you can only put on ten pounds of muscle it would be better than gaining 20 lbs if half of it was fat.

No. Creatine will help you recover between workouts so you can hit the weights more often. It will also help you lift more (about a 5-10% increase in weight), but when you stop taking it, those results will go away. Also, you will not gain 25lbs. by August with creatine. You are going to have to eat more throughout the summer to achieve this. I would suggest adding one or two more meals to your daily diet, Make sure that it is wholesome food because you don't want to add 25lbs. of fat, you will lose your mobility and be more susceptible to injury. Being that August is about 4 months. I would make your goal a little more realistic and shoot for about 10-15lbs. so you don't make yourself fat.

Keep Dreamin bud...25 #'s by August aint gonna happen when your only 180 now. let me put your mind at rest here for a minute cause i can see your wheels turnin. you wanna be 205 by hell week right? Why is that? Cause you think you need to be that big to be good, get a full ride, fit in your pants? You can do it, and you dont have to gain the entire 25#'s.
In HS i was 215 #'s untill some colleges started asking about me my JR year. I played offensive Tackle. Thats right 215# lineman getting attention of recruiters. so starting in December my Jr year i started packing on the MUSCLE. Cause muscle weighs more than fat, and you cant use fat. So you need to watch how its going onto your frame. already being 180 my guess is 15#'s would be good. After all, I signed on the dotted line weighing 230#'s durring the middle of wrestling season when i told every recruiter that walked through the door i was 245#'s.
what you need to worry about most is your game film

Creatine is not for building muscle mass and will not assist you in gaining weight. Creatine is for assisting in muscle recovery. I would suggest a weight gain high protein powder instead as a supplement to a high carb, high protein, low sugar diet. To gain weight, good weight, quickly you must increase your calorie intake beyond whatever you are burning in your workouts. Ideally the extra protein will convert to heavy muscle and provide you the bulk you desire.

Creatine sucks ***, some of my friends took it and they got jacked and then stopped and wound up gaining no strength and just wound up pulling muscles. You really don't need this to help you. All you need to do is a combination of push ups, situps, bench presses and squats and eat a high carb and protein diet and you'll be good.

Creatine makes you retain water between the fibers of your muscles.
When you stop using it, you lose the water, the weight, and the bulk.
There is no other way to gain weight and muscle mass than to eat more calories than what you burn, to lose fat and add muscle, and to create scar tissue in your muscle fibers by lifting like a madman. (that is what makes your muscles look big.)

Take a protien powder. CytoSport is a good company. Also, true mass is not bad. Protien helps you get big and add weight. Its the right way of doing things.
