what can I do?. the local vet is more of a farmers vet or large pet vet. the turtle itself doesnt seem to be in to much discomfort as its moving around but their is a bite hole in the top of its shell and on the underside. its stopped bleeding and I have used some salt and water to disenfect it. Please help

I think you have to make sure no infection sets in, or the animal is not suffering from shock. I know that you have said about the vet, but I think it is best to have the turtle checked over. At least the vet can give the turtle some antibiotics if needed and make sure the wound is clean and give you some antiseptic ointment to put on the wounds. The turtle may also need a needle to prevent any infection from the dog. I think the best bet is to see the vet, even though he/she may only handle farm type of creatures they are medically trained to deal with most if not all animals, and for the sake of your turtle I would get pretty quick attention. You have to get this turtle to the vet. They will be able to inspect the wound to make sure that it doesn't get infected. If you have to go to a herpetological website for turtles to find other people to talk too.
