Come on, everyone knows we'll eventually leave Iraq. It's just a matter of time...
We left bases in Germany because they didn't want another World War. Both WWs were created by Germany. And Japan, well you can't forgive Pearl Harbor too easily. But Iraq it's different. You aren't fighting an army. You're fighting terrorists. And yes, i believe theres gonna be a couple of bases in Iraq for the next 20 to 30 years.

We will leave Iraq. The Republicans asked the Democrats if we have a plan. Yes we do and it is not stay the course!
There is nothing more we can do in Iraq except make the situation worse! The oil companies are going to have to live without Iraqi oil!

You got it right man. Evidence to this is all of the bases that we are continuing to build there. If we leave Iraq you can be sure it is to fight a war in Iran.

Maybe we won't leave Iraq in the 2008 elections because there's a reason to be there. Did that ever occur to you or is your short sighted liberal mind so focused on insulting our country for trying to protect freedom that you can't see it.

We still have troops moderating Germany. There are still troops stationed in Japan. No matter the war, we will probably have troops in the area to follow up long after the orignal troopers become dust.

you're right generally. except for one thing. i think when a democrat wins the election there will be alot of pressure for them to withdraw, so the numbers will drop quite a bit. but in the end we'll set up a base there and maintain a presence until who knows when.

There will still be uniformed US military in Iraq 50 years from now. The Arabs will continue to hate us.
Soon after the oil is gone though, we say bye-bye.
