This is so sad for you but you must do as she asks, if you continue to contact her she will be controlling you and that is not good.
This happened to me not long ago and I`m not young.
I did as she asked and haven`t spoken to her since. She has told mutual friends that she was wrong but is too proud to contact me.
It took me months to come to terms with it but I am glad now because looking back she used and abused. I now know I am worth more than she gave,
You will feel this soon, you don`t need a friend who is mean and hurtful. Move on, you can and you will find more friends who deserve you.

First what I think you should do is tell her all this in one simple letter. Then, ignore her. If you keep trying to contact her, she'll just get annoyed with you. I understand you miss her, but I think she just doesn't want to be friends with you anymore, and there's no reason you should put up with that. I'm sorry but forget about her and move on. Especially if she had a bullying character, you deserve better.
So one letter or email, and explain you're not going to send anymore and that's it.
Move onto other friends and try to forget about her, no matter how hard it may be.

I think there must be a reason for this behaviour of your best friend,is she upto something?
Is there some boy involved,Maybe she is seeing someone that u used to go out with or that u like,or someone close 2u even and thats why she wants u out the way!!
I would ring her,she may not answer(but thats good) then leave her a message saying i have decided to listen 2u i enjoyed our friendship while it lasted, but from now on you wont hear from me again. Say you are deleting her number too.
I bet she is attention seeking,i think she will let u know whats wrong after that.
Good luck girl!!

that's horrible.
did she give any explanation as to why she is acting this way besides needing space? i guess id talk to her other friends, to find out if there was something going on with her, but that strategies is a little risky because she could accuse you of going behind your back. I have two close friends and when they come together they taunt me about how i talk, speak, and dress, and it really can hurt. I'm not sure why I'm still friends with them, but as you said it would too hard to break it off. I think your friend is being very unreasonable. breaking off a friendship is hard enough, but if it just all of a sudden happens and there is zero contact, i think its your friends responsibility to at least give you a reason before sealing off all contact.

yeah - RE-THINK YOUR QUESTION!!!! i do not see how anyone's BEST friend could possibly turn sooo harshly such as you have explained. and if a freind does this - maybe they were never really your BEST friend to begin with. i know it is harsh, but after 7 years - you have earned more than this.....volatile relationship or not - any kind of friend surely DESERVES more than this completely immature behavior. COME ON, seriously place yourself in her shoes.....even if there was a specific reason to exhile a friend like that - WOULD YOU? would you treat them soooooooooooo poorly and demand such stupid things like - no contact or emails?!?!? if you said no to either of those questions....than MOVE ON!! let her know you will miss her - but you dont feel there is a need to lower your standards to such poor undeserved and immature behavior from her. yeah - you may miss her, but really : WHAT WILL YOU BE MISSING??? bullying behavior? hurtful actions? constant battle for her affection???? As you grow older and experience more relationships - you will see that there is always TWO people in any friendship and YOU are one of them.....DEMAND the RESPECT, LOVE, AND CARE that you deserve!!!!!!!!

Hello,
to be honest you seem like a really nice person and you shouldn't be treated like that by anyone. Your 'best friend' didn't deserve the friendship you had to offer and in time i hope you'll be able to see that too. If she is going to throw away a true friend then it's her loss- you'll find there'll be many other people in this world who'll treat you with the respect and kindness a best friend would show.
Hope this helped...

I'm sorry to hear about this, but people do change and want different things, and it sounds like she has. Look at it this way, she wasn't by any means perfect as a friend (you mentioned she was bullying and a bit nasty), so you could consider this as your chance to go out and get to know more people, and hopefully find a new best friend.

You didn't mention why she thinks that you are the cause of her unhappiness. Give space. If she was genuinely your best friend she will come back to you. At the same time, keep a track of her, and if she is doing something suicidal........ be there by her side to help.

well, if she doesn't want to be your friend any more, for no reason, then it's her loss, not yours. and i don't think that you should ignore her, after all, you 2 were friends for 7 yrs, and if you did, then you would just be doing the same thing that she did to you, and then she might really not talk to you again, and she probably just needs a little time alone, even if you are good friends. hope i helped

Of Course i said no she just didnt seem like a friend anymore she told me never to talk call instant message or even email her then of course she came back an asked to be my friend and i said no i told her if she wanted or even need a friend then she would treat them nicer and not like she did to me so i recomend just to not b her friend anymore but dont hate eachother just kind of act like you never met.
