Before I went on the pill, my cycles varied from 22-32 days. I came off the pill last month to try to conceive. I am two days late so far, which makes me at cycle day 30. I am hoping that AF won't come at all, but if it does, is there any advice on pinpointing your ovulation? I know to check cervical mucus and chart temps, and ovulation kits get expensive every month! Has anyone experienced a change in their cycle after stopping birth control? If so, please share your advice and if they were irregular again or consistant. Serious answers only please! Thanks so much!!

I went off birth control last July and had irregular cycles. So, I charted for one month and conceived in October. There is a site you can chart on for free. I'll include it at the bottom of this. It's really handy. We also used a product called Pre-Seed and I credit that with us getting pregnant. So, even though my cycles were way off and not consistant we were able to conceive. :)

Its always hard when coming off birth control because your cycles are usually off whack. There is a saliva scope that you can use to track ovulation. The best way to do it is charting and keeping an eye out on your cm until your cycle more or less falls into a routine. There is a great board on Parents.com where alot of women go an ask questions and just support one another through the whole trying to conceive process. It was very helpful to me. I'd also speak to your ob/gyn and let them know.

I'm in the exact same position as you, in fact, it looks like we stopped taking the pill at about the same time. I'm currently on day 30 of my first cycle after the pill and have yet to have a period. I tried using OPK's for a while but since I don't know when I'm going to ovulate they were way too expensive. Right now I'm just going to take a HPT once a week until I either get my period or get a positive. Do you think you've ovulated at all yet? I'm not sure about me....

I've heard that it can take several months before your cycles settle back into a normal pattern after going off birth control. For me, my periods never came back after I went off the pill last July to try to get pregnant (I have PCOS). But then my cycles were 7 weeks long before I started the pill. So now I have to take medication to get my period and to ovulate.

It can take up to six months to get your cycles regulated coming off the pill. Mine get shorter and shorter when off the pill.

Hope you conceive soon. Best of luck.
