There is so much literature out there, so many statisticsm so many studies, but I want to know from real-life married men and women - can a couple really stay happily faithful to each other? Temptation will always be there, but is it possible to stay loyal without feeling resentful?

Are there any married couples out there who are still hot for each other?

Yes. After 37 years of marriage, we still love each other deeply. The "hot" isn't as often as it once was, but when it happens it's hotter than ever! Can't imagine being with someone else

You'd better believe it! I'm on my second wife (the first passed away some years ago, after 14 years together, 9 married), and that part of our life together is still awesome. The trick is to make sure you get what you want in a spouse. Do not compromise. Don't just settle for what's available at that moment. People are told from an early age that looks are not important, that they are shallow for wanting someone who's sexy. Not true! Sex is as important as anything else - no more, and no less. I'm lucky - I have no temptations - I can't even imagine anyone sexier than my wife.

Don't get me wrong - looks are not important if you're looking for friends - but friendship is all about personality. Marriage is about physical love as well, not just platonic. If the person you are with doesn't interest you sexually any more, you have probably made a bad decision when you married him/her. People often say that you shouldn't have relationships with friends. No, I say! These are exactly the people that you should have relationships with. It indicates that your personalities are compatible, and that you also have that chemistry, the urge to get physical with each other. And if it doesn't work out in the end, a true friend will still be your friend - it doesn't have to ruin anything. And if they don't want to see you any more...then you know just how good a friend they really were at last.

Believeiit or not me and my husband are still hot for each other. We have been married for 6 years dated for 7 years( high school sweet hearts). I still look at him and feel excited . I'm mad if we can't make love sometimes( caused the kids won't go to sleep) , newborn twins or something like that. You have to make an effort, things do get stale sometimes, with the changes in life ex. Kids, work schedules, just plain old tired. If you have true intimacy and passion, these things that get in the way are only temporary. We are struggling to make it back from the birth of the twins, but we are getting there. If my memories serves me right after the birth of our 1st child it took us about a year to get our love life back on track, it was full steam ahead until this last pregnancy. Even if we don't have sex, we try to compliment each other and hug each other daily. We do have fights and disagreements, but I still feel the love and closeness. The marriage is the most important relationship in the family, you have to put a little effort everyday to make it work. YES! you can have passion and stay faithful. I guess the reason why I haven't cheated , even during our drought ,is cause I know the grass is not always greener on the other side, and the problems I have with my husband are possible the same I would have for a boyfriend. Also I know my husband has my best interest in mind, few people in the "streets" care about beyond getting what they can. I love marriage and if I have to kick him out for any reason I would love to get married again.

I think the sad thing about marraige is you may not be the same person that you were when you got married first, people do change. Perhaps you were blinded by love / attraction or maybe you dont know that person as well as you thought you did.
Being monogamous for the majority of women I would think is possible because they love and trust that person, even just respect is important to them. When you lose these key elements the foundation is weak.
I cannot speak for everyone but most women want to feel appreciated and an important part of a relationship, this means when they need a symathetic ear, the guy is there to listen, and if this is possible, the rest goes without saying.
One thing for sure is you get out of it what you put in. PS my aunt and uncle seem to be an example of this and they are in their 50's so smile folks ...its really possible.

come on - think of all the diseases out there and be glad that you will never catch one because you and your spouse are happily married and committed. sometimes things get 'boring' - but so would having a fling. especially if you were to get caught and end up divorced. not worth it. if you are no longer 'hot' for your spouse - just be honest with him/her. you can either make it work or mutually separate. (the mature way without having to be a sneaky, pathetic cheat) why waste the other person's life away while you're out cheating. that's not fair. we're all entitled to the truth - and to be happy, don't you think?

I don't feel any temptation whatsoever. The very idea of getting intimate with someone else turns my stomach. My husband and I have spent many years building a deep love, trust, security, bonding, facing life's problems, seeing each other through bad times. "Doing it" with a person who has no idea what I'm all about doesn't sound sexy, romantic or even remotely tempting.

Yes. We're married almost 16 years and still HOT for each other. So hot in fact that I think we should send the kids to the neighbors house right now...(wiggling eyebrows as I type and he kisses me)

Sure, it happens. Sometimes it works like that and I guess sometimes it doesn't.

Well I cant speak for "all marriages" but my husband is it for me. I love him more than I have ever loved any other man in my life. He is the sexiest, sweetest, man ever. I couldnt even imagine being with another man. No one could compare to him. We have been together over 6 years and married for 4, still going Strong.

Nope - no such thing. My marriage would be considered pretty A plus healthy and it is. But there's no such thing as happliy monogamous. I think about other men all the time and I know he thinks about other women. The difference is we keep it to ourselves and don't act on it.
