This was an answer someone gave to another question. I've never heard the system described this way before...

" The 2 major political parties are like parents.

The democrats are like one's mother. Always the one who kissed boo-boos, tells you it will be alright, is nice to the neighbors, keeps things tidy around the house, says things like "wait until your father gets home", "well, lets see how can we fix this", and "nobody should do my kid wrong".

The republicans are like one's dad. Football, motorcycles, racing...hates the neighbors, but is nice because the wife will gripe, tells you to suck it up when you get a boo-boo, handles the bully down the street, goes to work at a job he hates, fixes things around the house, and is generally grumpy when it comes to your mom. Says things like "I don't care; ask your mother". "knock off all that noise", "stop whining" and "what did you do to deserve it" '

Hah. Good one. I'm sure that applies to some. My description is two wings of the same vulture. Mostly rich, self involved, politically motivated rather than issues motivated, etc. Yours is cute though.

The West Wing dicussed this in the episode "The Mommy Problem". Here's TVWOP's quote
"You should see him out here, he's on fire." Joey tells Santos that the focus on the leak is "magnifying the inevitable mommy problem." Ronna wonders what that means, so Josh explains that when voters want a "national daddy" to be tough on security issues, they vote for Republicans. And when they want a "mommy, to give them jobs, health care, the policy equivalent of matzo ball soup, they vote Democratic."

No you have it wrong there are not two parties or more there is only one party of rule & control "The money party" all the other details you might discuss in agenda is mere show in the public eye! Representative government is lining their pockets & living large while completely hoodwinking the public! Your vote NOT verifiable, provable or claim validation! It is keep in secret to hide the ruling class agenda, fleecing the public blind!

Pretty cute. However Im a mom, and I kiss boo boo's, then tell them to suck it up, I keep things tidy as well as fix them, and my latest, favorite sentence is "STOP WHINING", and moreso to the democrats than my kids!

Haha, I kinda like it, makes some sense.

I always liked South Park's rendition of the parties, with the Hippie Liberal Douches, and the Conservative Rednecks.

I look at both of them as vampires, sucking the life's blood (money) out of us while doing nothing about health care for Americans or our open borders and the flood of illegals crossing into our country.

Not really. It's an interesting simile, but not at all complete in its representation of real-world politics.

Sounds like'em to me. Maybe a good reason to start a new political party.

No, both parties are exactly the same.

That's a weird metaphor/similie. Both parties suck in general... so they're both transexuals.
