Obama had denied any involvement and the consultant is now history, having either resigned or been shown the door, depending on who you believe. Obama is partially running on "clean" politics. How do you think this will affect his image, or do you think it will affect it at all? Do you think he will be able to convince people that he didn't approve of this message, or will the perception by some that he might have been involved ruin his image as being above this sort of thing? I personally think he probably didn't know about it, but I wonder how it will be perceived nonetheless. Thoughts?

There's no defense of Hillary in my question, or condemnation of Obama. Wow, the reading comprehension level here is strangely off today. I'm simply asking how you all think this will be perceived by the public? Why is it so hard to get a straightforward answer in YA?

Hillary will use it to her advantage, so yes, it will hurt him. To think that her operatives aren't and won't do the same to him would be naive. Her team will just be more adept at covering their trail. And I'm not excluding the GOP from this behavior either. I do think (or maybe wishfully hope) that they will wait until after the primaries to employ the mudslinging tactics. I have said all along that Chairman Hillary will get the nom, and I don't think Obama will have the savvy to beat her.

Nice link by the way, I hadn't heard the story yet.

Seems to me based on the info I read someone working for him did this - SO if the Dems are after Bush for actions taken by his Atty Gen, etc. should a Dem not be held to the same standard. Probably not he just can't keep up with what his campaign is doing so it isn't his fault I guess. I might not like Hillary but the ad was a result of a policy decision by the Obama campaign - he needs to be held accountable for that action and apologize to the Clinton campaign and fire the people involved I guess.

If he got rid of the person, I don't see it being an issue. Unlike Edwards keeping those bloggers on his staff, which was really dumb. I'm sure some Republicans will use it to say "Look, Obama is using smear tactics", but I could care less what they think. They weren't voting for Obama anyways.

personally, he has alot of supporters who probably could do it up themselves.. But dont hate or question the game..Hillary has been pulling sneaky politics hersel;f. Shes not at all perfect. But it goes to show you that the world is more listening to what he does than her.. So who do you think has a easier time running this race for 08.. Its the black president who even though has little experience has enough heart to win. The polls have only increased in his favor .

I don't think anyone really cares. Not enough bad things can happen to Hillary.

he will be exposed as a hypocrite, but everyone knows he is a politician, so no one should be astounded.
