They're what the game calls "clutter" it has no purpose in the game. If they're worth something, you could sell it.

You can't really "do" anything with them - they're more for show than anything (i.e. people would normally have this stuff around their houses).

Some can be useful in side quests, though - for example, when presenting an offering to the Daedric Prince Sheogorath, you have to offer a head of lettuce, yarn and a lesser soul gem to speak with him because this Prince and his followers are a bit... odd.

By 'object' I'll just assume you mean other things like paint brushes, cups and the like - same thing, they can't be used. Worse yet, when you buy a house in any of the cities, it is automatically filled with the same stuff.

The clincher is that none of these items are worth anything if you try to sell them - no easy way to make gold for the beginning player I suppose :(
