See a fertility specialist if you have been trying for that long with no results. It could be indicative of a problem. Try calling the hospital referral number (just whatever hospital is nearest you, or whichever one you prefer) and asking about reputable reproductive endocrinologists. They might be able to provide some insight into why nothing is happening. If you don't want to do that or if you don't have health insurance, maybe check into getting an ovulation test. You can buy them over the counter at most pharmacies, and they tell you when you're most fertile during the month.

Are you certain you ovulate? Do you know when you ovulate? You should read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and start charting. This way you'll know when your fertile days are for sure, versus a generalized estimate. Also, why would you want to intentionally have a child without being married? If ya'll are commited enough to have a baby, why not marriage? Maybe I'm old fashioned. Regardless, if you find you are ovulating and all that good stuff and still nothing, you both need to see a fertility specialist. Maybe you should get a check up from the gyno as well. Couldn't hurt.

4 1/2 years is a long time to be together. Don't dwell on it a lot and it will come naturally. Of course, if it doesn't happen, you should visit your Dr. He may run tests to see why you are having a hard time getting pregnant. In the mean time, enjoy your times together because after a baby, life changes completely. The baby becomes the main focus of your days and nights!! Good luck!

Sometimes if you have been on birth control it can take a while for concieve. If you've been trying for longer than 6 months to a year I would visit your Dr, depending on your age. Could you also research Red raspberry leaf tea. It is said to help concieve.

There are some herbal supplements and diet changes that I've heard people swear by. You could try those first. Also stay laying on your back after sex to make sure you keep it all in. Good luck!

GET MARRIED!!!!
There are more than enough children missing at least one parent. If you cannot commit to each other why do you think you can commit to a baby.
