There are several places. If you ask Apple, they would say iTunes, since they own the service. This allows you to purchase legal mp3's. You can also convert audio CD's into mp3's and load them on your iPod. Or you can be like the rest of the world and just get all songs for free of bittorent or limewire. Illegal, but free. :-)

If you use the iTune software, it will allow you to interface the iPod with your computer and you can transfer files back and forth through a USB connection.

Itunes is probably your safest bet, and it has a great selection. With any of the file-sharing programs, such as limewire, people CAN upload music off your computer, just like you're downloading off theirs. With that security risk in mind, plus the fact that the RIAA is on the warpath again, I'd definitely use iTunes.

You use the iTunes software that came with the Ipod. Install it, plug in ur ipod, and go to library and drag songs from library to ur little ipod icon to the left, and it should transfer it. To get songs you can use a cd and copy it to ur computer, or u can buy songs of itunes music store.
