Many times this story is assigned as homework. You may want to repost it under:

Home > Education & Reference > Homework Help

Otherwise there are some summaries on www.amazon.com or wiki.

I read it years ago. I recall it's a true story of one of the worst cases of child abuse ever reported in the country. I don't remember what happened in the first chapter though. It's really good. There is also a second book but, I don't remember what it's called either. Sorry I can't be of much help.

It's been awhile since I've read that book, but I think the first chapter talks about how he is being rescued and the things that he went through. It's just like a movie where they show you the ending first and then start from the beginning and then wraps it up with what they showed before. The first chapter ties in with the ending. He gets taken away from his parents who treated him like crap and the people who saved him were teachers from school.

The First chapter is basically like the end of the story. The rest of the story describes being mistreated by his mother. Then, He's let free. He never has to see his mother ever again. technically, it should go at the end but, that's the way it goes.
