There are allot of ways to lower a motorcycle one would be checking out the size of the bike and lowering the shocks and seat variations. You can also chop the bike down to fit your size

Yup. A good friend of mine is about that tall and he rides a Ducati. I'm not sure what model. Just like a car, you can adjust or change out the springs/shocks to lower it down quite a bit. It depends upon which bike.

On a similar note, I met a chick that was about 4'10 that rode a full-sized GSXR750. She was on her tip toes at stop lights but was an absolute excellant rider.

I'm not a do-it-yourselfer - I'm 5'3 as well, and when I got my ZX6R, I had the guys in the shop lower it for me. They used a dog bone or something like that. Don't ask me to explain it because I can't. I think they're also referred to as lowering links...

There are some adjustments you can make, but unless you're all legs or the bike is already fairly low, it might not be enough.

If the hardware modification don't lower it enough as suggested by the others. One last thing you could look into is an after market seat. My seat shaved off an inch and its actually better on long hauls than the factory seat.

Depending on the bike, you could do it yourself but I would say it buy one, or have one custom made, ie corbin.

One problem shorter riders have is not just seat height, but seat width. By shaving the seat's foam you can lower and narrow it . Not only does this put you a little closer to the ground, but allows your feet to be closer to the bike.

Plates on the back shocks..will lower it an inch or two..

some front fork tubes can be slid through the triple clamps..or you can cut the springs in the forks down....

type in lowered motorbikes in your search engine & have a look....
