The only similarities between FDR and Adolph Hitler is that they both were around the same time of WWII and before that and both wanted to dominate the world. But, the differences between the two of them is the same as good vs. evil. And also that FDR was a ruler of totally democratic nation and Adolph Hitler had fancied himself as a Caesar and he ruled a nation that was not free at all to even vote him out of office.

Hitler was NOT a socialist. He was a fascist. Socialists believe in public ownership of national resources and major industries, and a more equitable distribution of wealth in society. Fascists believed a partnership between large corporations and the government in certain industries such as transportation and defense, but they are essentially capitalists. Hitler considered socialists and communists to be his political enemies.

FDR was probably more of a socialist than Hitler, although he was not a true socialist either (and he was definitely not a fascist!).

Also, FDR did NOT want to take over the world. He did want to protect American economic interests from Japanese and German takeover, but he didn't go into WWII planning to create an empire in the same sense that Hitler or Tojo did.

Similarities? Both led their countries out of the Depression and through WWII. Both made alliances with Stalin.
