Micropyle allows pollen access to the egg inside the protected ovule.

Seed coat protects the seed from environmental hazards.

Dormancy allows a single generation of seeds a better chance at survival (ie. they don't all sprout at once into a hostile environment like a cold winter or a drought).

micropyle is the little hole in the seed which lets water in to start the germination process
seed coat is the protective leyer that is imperable to disease and water
dormant is when the celluar activity is at rest

b. inhibits plant growth (not 100 percent sure on that one but it makes the most logical sense)
