Universal healthcare is a bad idea. It will be more control by the federal government in your private life. And yes, the service will be bad, since all the good doctors will opt out of the system. It will be private health insurance for the people who can afford it and the rest will suffer.

Since the government (not only the Republican federal govt, but the Dem state and local govts) have done such a BANG UP job helping with the Katrina aftermath - and that's only ONE city, with NO sick people - I have COMPLETE confidence that national health care will run smooth as a clock.

Let's face it, can you always trust your HMO to ensure that you quickly and easily get the work you need done? It's not always so easy under the privatized system either.

Don't worry about it. The insurance companies will never let it happen. They'll screw it up.
